Report: Ray Shero Not Safe
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - After another epic playoff collapse that has many just assuming Head Coach Dan Bylsma's time is up here in Pittsburgh, the question yet to be answered is, who else is in jeopardy?
As Brian Stubits of CBSSports.com writes, there are reports surfacing that not only is Bylsma in trouble, but General Manager Ray Shero is as well. According to reports, Penguins ownership will consider wide-sweeping changes to the organization that has blown 3-1 series leads in two of the last four years, while failing to reach the Stanley Cup Finals since they last won it in 2009.
While there is little room to question many of the moves Shero has made, the one move that most likely has his future with the team in question was giving Bylsma a two-year contract extension following last year. The move came after the Penguins were swept in the Eastern Conference Finals at the hands of the Boston Bruins.
That came at a time where many fans were already calling for change. Now, change for Shero might mean finding a new job.
As for Bylsma and his future with the team, 93-7 The FAN Featured Columnist Colin Dunlap writes that "This Time, Dan Bylsma Must Go."
