Report: Rangers Inquire About Hanrahan
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Pirates have reportedly turned down an offer from the Texas Rangers for closer Joel Hanrahan.
According to a report published on MLBTradeRumors.com, the Rangers inquired about Hanrahan, but the Pirates were not interested in dealing their closer.
An earlier report claimed that if the Pirates were to move Hanrahan, it would be for a significant price.
Hanrahan broke into the majors with the Washington Nationals in 2007.
Since coming to the Pirates in 2009, Hanrahan is 4-3 with a 2.79 ERA in 122 2/3 innings with 19 saves.
The Pirates open up a brief two-game series with the Atlanta Braves Tuesday night.
