Report: Ohio State Hires Urban Meyer
COLUMBUS, Ohio (KDKA) – Ohio State University appears to have found their next head coach after Jim Tressel resigned amid a scandal involving several players.
According to an ESPN report, former Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer has agreed to become the next head coach of the Buckeyes.
In 10 years of coaching, Meyer holds a 104-23 record and won two national championships with the Gators.
Tressel resigned after several players allegedly sold game memorabilia, which was in violation of NCAA rules.
Among those involved was Jeannette native Terrelle Pryor, who also elected to end his time at Ohio State after the scandal broke.
Pryor was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the NFL Supplemental Draft.
