Report: Jagr's Agent Talking Today With Shero
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Plenty of new information this morning on Jaromir Jagr's possible return to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Petr Svoboda, Jagr's agent, confirmed today that Jagr will play in the NHL next season.
William DePaoli of Insidepittsburghsports.com is reporting that Jagr plans on making his decision tomorrow.
Reportedly, the decision will come down to the Penguins, Detroit Red Wings and a mystery team.
DePaoli also reports that the word in league circles is that Jagr is likely to sign a one-year deal for less than $3 million.
Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, who originally broke this story, also has some new information.
Rossi reports that Svoboda will talk again today with Penguins general manager Ray Shero about Jagr.
According to the report in the Tribune Review, Lemieux is getting involved.
Svoboda told Rossi, "I talked to Jaromir yesterday about Pittsburgh. He is a fan of the city and of the organization, I also spoke with (former Penguin) Robert Lang and he told me Mario Lemieux is trying to reach Jagr right now to talk."
Jagr is apparently really excited about the chance to close out his career playing on a line with either Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
ESPN's Pierre LeBrun said on his Twitter page that the Penguins may only be interested in Jagr if he comes at a very low price.
