Report: E. Sanders To Miss Next 3 Weeks
PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- The Steelers received some bad news today when they learned that wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders' injured foot isn't completely healed.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that Sanders will miss at least the next 3 weeks because of the injury.
Sanders injured the foot during the Super Bowl vs. the Green Bay Packers.
According to the report, Sanders had surgery on his left foot 12 weeks ago and had an injection in the foot that took bone marrow from his heel to try to speed up the healing process.
This injury could be a problem for the team because they don't have a lot of quality depth at wide receiver.
Mike Wallace is the No. 1 receiver followed by Hines Ward (who's also injured) and Antonio Brown.
This will be an opportunity for Limas Sweed to make a positive impression on Mike Tomlin and the coaching staff.
Look for Kevin Colbert to try to bring in a veteran wide receiver especially since they cut Antwaan Randle El.
Running back is another position the Steelers could use some veteran depth.
I think the Steelers should be pursuing a veteran to back up Rashard Mendenhall.
Here's the top 10 running backs still available thru free agency: 1. Ricky Williams, 2. Jason Snelling, 3. Ronnie Brown, 4. Jerome Harrison, 5. Cadillac Williams, 6. Laurence Maroney, 7. Ladell Betts, 8. Kevin Smith, 9. Correll Buckhalter, 10. Julius Jones
If you were the Steelers, would you pursue any of these running backs?
