Report: Crosby Out For Season Opener
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Fans hoping Sidney Crosby would be in the starting lineup on opening night will have to wait a little bit longer.
According to Shelly Anderson with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Crosby ruled himself out for the Penguins' regular season opener against the Vancouver Canucks.
Crosby has been participating in training camp practices and some scrimmages, but has yet to be cleared for contact.
The Penguins' star center has been suffering from concussion symptoms since Jan. 6.
Crosby will accompany the team on their western Canada trip to start the regular season.
Pittsburgh will close out their preseason schedule Sunday afternoon on the road in Detroit.
