Report: Could Mike Keenan Be Next Pens Head Coach?
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With reports surfacing that Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma could be on his way out, the rumor mill has already begun to stir.
As Allan Muir of Sports Illustrated writes, the name Mike Keenan has already been thrown out as a candidate for the job.
Keenan ranks sixth all-time in NHL coaching wins with 672 after coaching the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, but hasn't been in the league since the 2008-2009 season and spent the past year making his head coaching return with Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL Russian League.
Muir points out though that Keenan did an interview last week in which he admits he doesn't think much anymore about coaching in the NHL.
The draw though of coaching superstars like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin could be enough though to make any coach reconsider his options.
