Rashard Mendenhall Might Not Be Ready For Next Season
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Although the 2012 NFL season is still seven months away, it appears as if running back Rashard Mendenhall might not be able to play after his ACL surgery.
That was news Monday from Steelers Director of Football Operations Kevin Colbert who met with print reporters and said, he's never sure about ACL surgeries.
Colbert says it normally takes a full year to recover after that operation and keep in mind Mendenhall had his in January.
So, at this point, his status is up in the air, but Colbert says he feels good about his stable of backs from Isaac Redman, John Clay, Jonathan Dwyer and Baron Batch.
Colbert also addressed wide receiver Hines Ward and his status, saying no decision has been made on whether or not to restructure Ward's contract and bring him back next season.
