Pittsburgh Native Rapper Mac Miller Dead Of Apparent Overdose

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh native rapper Mac Miller has died.
Miller was found around noon Friday at his California home and was pronounced dead at the scene, as first reported by TMZ.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine his official cause of death.
He was 26-years-old.
Miller graduated from Pittsburgh's Alderdice High School in 2010.

Pittsburgh Public Schools released the following statement expressing their condolences to Miller's family and friends:
"We are deeply saddened to have learned about the tragic passing of 2010 Pittsburgh Allderdice alum Mac Miller. We wish to extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
As a student, Malcolm McCormick was well-liked by students and staff. Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services and former Pittsburgh Allderdice Principal Melissa Friez describes Malcolm as, 'a very talented young man, who had a warm smile and friendly personality.' While a senior at Allderdice, Malcolm was already touring as he began to break into the music scene. After graduation, he came back to Allderdice to accept the key to the city. He will be greatly missed by the entire Allderdice school community.
We care a great deal about the health and wellness of our students and staff. Student Assistance providers will be made available to students when classes resume at the school Tuesday, September 11th.
We request that the media respect the privacy of the Pittsburgh Allderdice School Community."

Miller had planned to launch a tour for his new album at the end of October. The tour was going to stop at the Petersen Events Center in November.
