Rankin Apartment Building Fire Displaces Residents
RANKIN (KDKA) – An early morning fire in Rankin forced nearly a dozen people out into the cold Sunday morning.
The fire started at an apartment building in the 100-block of Second Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
"I just saw flames and there was this lady running out telling everyone to get out the front because there was fire in the building," Kim Darwin said. "If I hadn't gotten up to get a bowl of cereal, I might still be in there."
There are injuries reported in this incident, but how many and the extent are not known at this time.
The cause of the fire is also unknown.
The Red Cross is assisting 10 adults with food, two adults with clothing and seven adults with lodging.
