Ralph's Army Surplus in Monroeville closing at the end of the year

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Ralph's Army Surplus in Monroeville is preparing to close its doors for good.

The well-known store located along William Penn Highway has been in business for nearly 70 years.

Ralph Bonn opened the store back in 1955, selling things like military sleeping bags, canteens, camouflage gear, and handwarmers.

Over the years, they expanded their inventory to include things like outdoor and work clothing.

The store's owner Bruce Silverblatt told the Tribune-Review that he's enjoyed the time with employees and that it's like a family.

The store has sales planned through late December.
