Steady Rains Causing Problems For Western Pa.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -Flash flooding is causing all kinds of problems around the area Wednesday morning.
From flooded streets to swamped basements and school closures, hours of heavy rain are to blame.
Renfrew Road in Butler County was closed due to flooding from Three Degree Road into the village of Renfrew.
There is also concern about flooding from the Connoquenessing Creek, which is already at 12.5 feet.
In Penn, Center and Jackson Townships, basement flooding has been reported. There have been no evacuations yet, but residents have been put on alert to be ready to move, especially those close to the creek.
In Beaver County, New Sewickley Road in Snyder and Waterfront Road in Franklin were closed.
Homeowners in Allegheny County are dealing with flooded basements. According to emergency dispatchers, some of the areas affected include Penn Hills, Bridgeville, McCandless, Richland and West View.
Streets Run Road in Baldwin had about four-feet of water. Emergency officials said a vehicle got stuck on the road at one point.

In Lawrenceville, a family on 38th Street saw part of their row house collapse. The family was inside at the time, but no one was injured.
Despite the collapse that was likely caused by the steady rains, a building inspector deemed the building livable and the family was allowed to go back inside.
For commuters, the Mon Wharf is closed for a second straight day as the river continues to swell.
As of 7 a.m., water had not reached yet reached the parking area, but it is inching closer.
However, the 10th Street Bypass remains open at this time.
