Radio Analyst Previews Pens/Bruins
PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) -- Former Boston Bruin and current radio color analyst Bob Beers joined The Fan Morning Show to preview Tuesday's Pittsburgh Penguins-Boston Bruins game.
Though they are still the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Bruins are flying under the radar. Beers said it was because of a rough stretch of games in which they found themselves losing in February and early March. However, recently they have turned the ship around and are back to winning games.
A major reason for the turnaround is the play of goaltender Tim Thomas. He has helped get the Bruins back on track and they have, once again, clinched their division.
Though they have very solid defensive depth, Beers still sees some match-up issues if the Bruins were to play the Penguins.
He doesn't think they will be able to stop the offensive force of a team like the Penguins, with three solid scoring lines. A reason Beers is happy to see the Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers battle it out in the first round. The Bruins hope to see the two teams beat each other up.
We get a look at the Bruins team: who is hot, who needs to step up their game, and if they can repeat their performance from the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
