Pulaski Man Charged With Pointing Loaded Shotgun At Daughter

PULASKI TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A man is facing charges after allegedly pointing a loaded shotgun at his daughter.

James Timothy Chaffey, 45, was jailed on charges including aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.

Police say it happened at Chaffee's home on Redwood Circle in Pulaski Township, Lawrence County, after a verbal altercation with his daughter when she came home from staying at a friend's house.

But during the altercation, the daughter claimed it became physical. At one point she claims he struck her in the nose.

And then, according to her, he picked up a loaded shotgun - a 12-gauge Mossberg loaded with three rounds including one in the chamber.

Another woman who lives in the house intervened and feared she too could be shot.

Chaffee, according to the criminal complaint, then told his daughter he could drown her right now if he wanted to.

Police were called and they removed three shotguns, a rifle and a pistol.

Chaffee has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Thursday.
