Public Defender Charged With Lying About Whereabouts After Client's Suicide
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An Allegheny County Public Defender is charged with lying about where his client was just days before his client killed himself.
Police say Andrew Capone falsely told a county judge's staff he had not seen Jeffrey Derosky on Jan. 12.
But Derosky's girlfriend told police she and Derosky met with Capone that day to talk about a plea deal.
Derosky shot himself at a motel four days later.
KDKA went to Capone's home Tuesday night.
He had no comment.
