Proteau: Ryan Miller Would Give Pens Great Chance To Win
PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- The Pittsburgh Penguins season is over, but news is still coming out of their season-ending series against the Boston Bruins. Evidence surfaced of Zdeno Chara going after Sidney Crosby's jaw in Game 1.
Adam Proteau of The Hockey News told Bob Pompeani that Chara didn't endear himself with that episode.
"It shouldn't be about the players policing themselves," Proteau said. "It's incumbent upon the league to recognize that hey, Sidney Crosby is the best player in the game, he's the meal ticket in much the same way Wayne Gretzky was."
There is also the question of what the Penguins will do with their goaltender situation. Management has said that Marc-Andre Fleury is their starting goalie. Proteau mentioned that other options are available, specifically Buffalo's Ryan Miller, who is on the trading block.
"Miller may not be the guy that he was five years ago because of the miles he's logged," Proteau said. But he added "particularly the Penguins, with the team in front of him, he'd give them a great chance to win."
