Procrastinators Scramble On Valentine's Day
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Love blooms on Valentine's Day. And you're in blooming trouble if you forget!
A corner lot on Banksville Road is bustling, as longtime vendor Bill Kunsman sells his stock of roses and bouquets. He says Valentine's Day brings out procrastinators, mostly of the male persuasion.
"It's traditional. They wait till the last second. And they count on me."
If your sweetheart has more of a sweet tooth than a green thumb, you might just want to hop across Banksville, and "Say it with chocolate." Candy, cards and floral arrangements are the order of the day at Kuhn's Market.
Floral department manager Joanne Bloskis says panic mounts as the hour grows later. "They're always in a hurry, and they want you to have everything that they want. And the day of Valentine's Day, that doesn't work because a lot of things are gone already."
She says that's not likely to ever change.
