Prince Fielder Hits 3 HRs In Pirates' 6-4 Loss In Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (KDKA/AP) – The Pirates came up short against the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-4.
Ross Ohlendorf pitched five innings and allowed four runs on five hits.
Milwaukee bounced back after losing 9-8 to the Pirates the previous night. Prince Fielder hit three home runs in one game for the first time in his career.
Rickie Weeks also homered. John Axford pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 46th save.
The Pirates' offense managed 10 hits, including 4 RBIs from Alex Presley, Josh Harrison, Matt Pagnozzi and Ohlendorf.
Neil Walker had two hits and Derek Lee had one.
LaTroy Hawkins (3-1) took the win, and Jared Hughes (0-1) was charged with the loss.
With the win, the Brewers crept closer to securing home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Milwaukee came into Tuesday's game with a one-game advantage over Arizona for the No. 2 seed in the NL.
