Primanti Brothers Sends A Big Thank You Platter To Buffalo Bills
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Buffalo may be known for its chicken wings, but soon the home of the Bills will be inundated with Primanti Brothers sandwiches. Why?
Consider it a thank you from Pittsburghers for helping the Steelers get into the playoffs.
"The Steelers in the playoffs, it's a big deal. If the Jets would've won, what would we all be doing today? I don't really know," Primanti Brothers Operations Director Mike Mitcham said.
For Mitcham and Toni Haggerty some pastrami, corned beef and capicolas were made with a little extra love this morning.
The camaraderie comes after the Bills' win put the black and gold into the playoffs. So, the restaurant, known for its mile-high slaw and fry-stacked sandwich, thought it would be a no-brainer to send a thank you.
Today, they packed up 20 boxes and threw in some Terrible Towels and T-shirts.
"I thought it was unique that they would send something as unique as the Primantis sandwich from Pittsburgh to Buffalo and I think they'll totally enjoy them when they get them," Gary Price said.
"We're not expecting anything in return. It's a complete thank you gesture, but you know, I'll take some wings," Mitcham said.
The 100 sandwiches will be delivered to the Buffalo Bills' home office. As for who gets them, that's on a first-come, first-serve basis.
