Post-Gazette's Brink On Bucs
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Bill Brink, the Pirates beat writer for the Post-Gazette, joined fellow sports reporter and 93.7 weekend host Paul Zeise on The Fan Sunday evening to discuss the latest happenings with the Bucs, including their blowout win at Nationals Park Sunday afternoon, a win that ultimately left them just one-and-a-half games off the NL Central lead.
Bill believes arguments can be made that Andrew McCutchen and Kevin Correia were unjustly left off the National League All-Star team, with all due respect to lone Pirate honoree Joel Hanrahan. He gives his take on which Pirate might make the best trade bait if the team decides to be aggressive at the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, and what effect Clint Hurdle has had on much-maligned first baseman Lyle Overbay, to say nothing of the rest of his teammates.
In addition, Bill tells us what the Pirate outfield might look like once Jose Tabata returns from the disabled list.
