'At Least 30 Shots': Police Investigating After Several Vehicles Are Hit With Gunfire
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Neighbors along Sidney Street in Pittsburgh's South Side are concerned. What's described as a very quiet area was disrupted by numerous gunshots.
"Probably around 1:40, and I heard what I thought was fireworks. But they were really loud and went off one after another," says one neighbor who asked to remain anonymous.
It was a knock on her front door by police when she found out it wasn't fireworks— but rather multiple rounds of gunfire.
"So we came outside and found at least four cars that were damaged, including mine," she says.
Her white Jeep was damaged by bullets. There are holes along the side of her vehicle and front seats, and her back window is shattered.
"It was at least 15 or 20, but I heard there were at least 30 shots all together," she says.
According to police, it was just after 2 Thursday morning when a man was dropped off at a hospital. They say his back was grazed by a bullet.
They're also saying there was a possible crime scene outside of a home on Sidney Street, and that there was a party happening.
KDKA was there while police were speaking to the owners of numerous vehicles that were hit by gunfire as well.
"It's usually a very quiet street so a lot of the neighbors were outside last night and we have some concerns about that. We'd like this street to remain quiet," she says.
No one has been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.
