Police Seek Thieves Who Targeted Pleasant Hills Business
PLEASANT HILLS (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Crime Stoppers hopes you can help identify a man and woman who they believe were responsible for two burglaries and a theft at a business in Pleasant Hills.
The crimes occurred at the Five Star Coin and Gold Exchange in the Southland Shopping Center.
The burglaries took place in December and again last month.
The December incident took place in the middle of the night. Someone broke the glass of the front door with a rock, and then took coins and jewelry from a showcase and fled.
Then, last month, there was a similar break-in but no merchandise was stolen.
Also in April, a woman walked into the store, and when the clerk turned his back for a moment, authorities say she scooped up coins and jewelry from a showcase and left the store.
"In the video, there's a woman with a sweatshirt on with a name that's partially blocked out," said Detective Robert Opferman, of the Allegheny County Police. "We're looking for help in trying to identify the woman, and possibly the male she's with. The burglaries appear to have been done by a male suspect and the close proximity to the theft and the second burglary lead us to believe the man is also involved."
The Crime Stoppers number is 412-255-8477.
