Police Seek Suspect Who Held Up Neville Island Convenience Store Twice

NEVILLE ISLAND (KDKA) -- Police are searching for a suspect who they say robbed a Neville Island convenience store twice in two days.

Employees say they can't remember the last time the 7-Eleven was robbed.

Just as someone was about to walk into the store early this morning, a robber pushed past. It happened around 1 a.m. The customer knew something was up and backed off.

Police believe the same man is responsible for robbing the same store the night before.

"Two robberies; back to back; same approximate time," said Chief Norbert Miklos, of the Ohio Township Police Department.

KDKA's Heather Abraham was able to briefly talk off camera to the employee who was working during the robbery. He says a coworker was outside at the time and able to call police.

The clerk, meanwhile, was put into a backroom, scared he may be shot. But the robber took off out of the store. Police responded within minutes but it was too late.

"Goes right to the cash register with the employee, has him open the drawer, takes the money. He's in and out in 30 seconds," said Chief Miklos. "This guy is very bold. Seems as though he's done it before."

On Monday, around 1 a.m. as well, police say the robber barged in and demanded cash. Police say the was armed with a handgun.

Ohio Township Police say he's dressed almost identical both nights, wearing gloves, a skull cap and a tee-shirt covering his face.

"Take a good look; let us know who it is. Obviously, this person has the ability to hurt somebody," said Chief Miklos.
