Police Seek Possible Witness In East Liberty Murder Case
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are asking for the public's help finding a man who could be a valuable witness in the murder of two sisters in East Liberty more than a week ago.
Police released surveillance footage from the Port Authority bus that Susan Wolfe had ridden home on the evening of Feb. 6 – the night she and her sister were murdered in their Chislett Street home.
He is seen exiting the bus at the Negley Avenue stop in East Liberty.
Officials want to be clear the man is not a suspect, but someone they say could help provide essential information to detectives.
He's seen wearing a drawstring backpack and jacket with a Steelers logo on it.
Police had said previously that they were searching for a man who appears to follow Susan Wolfe home after getting off the same Port Authority bus.
Wolfe and her sister, Sarah Wolfe, were found the next day shot to death in the home's basement.
Police believe Susan Wolfe, a teacher's aide, arrived home first and was shot by the suspect, then the suspect waited inside the home for two hours for Sarah Wolfe, a UPMC psychiatrist, then shot her.
Police also said they are looking into Susan Wolfe's possible relationship with homeless men.
Sources confirm she had a "deep compassion" for people in need.
