Police Seek Help Locating 2 Bank Robbery Suspects
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Police are asking for the public's help to locate two men who robbed separate banks on Wednesday.
According to police the first robbery happened at the First Niagara Bank on Shiloh Street around 12:13 p.m.
The suspect jumped the counter, terrorized tellers and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Someone outside the bank began to chase the suspect. At that time, the suspect fired a shot at the person chasing him before jumping into a gold Jeep Cherokee on Beam Way.
The suspect in this robbery is described as being an African-American male standing about 5-feet-5-inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He is believed to be 20 to 30-years-old and wore a blank bandana and brandished a silver handgun.
The other robbery happened at a PNC Bank on East Carson Street on the South Side around 2:45 p.m.
A man handed a teller a note, which read "This is no joke. No 911. Don't push any buttons or I'll blow you away."
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot.
He is described as being a white male between the ages of 25 and 35. He is about 5-feet-10-inches tall and 160 pounds with a medium build and brown, curly hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
