Police Seek Elderly Woman In Bank Heist
BELLEVUE, Pa. (AP) — Police are searching for a woman they believe is 65 to 70 years old in connection with a Pittsburgh-area bank robbery during which she claimed to be carrying a bomb in a grocery bag.
Belleview police Chief Matt Sentner says, "It's not every day you get a senior citizen robbing a bank."
The woman entered the Citizens Bank about 10 a.m. wearing a ball cap with a large Pittsburgh Steelers emblem, a beige hooded sweat shirt, sweat pants and white athletic shoes.
Nobody in the bank was hurt and police still aren't sure how the woman got away after leaving the bank. They believe she might have entered a vehicle, but haven't confirmed that.
They say she walked to the manager's desk and claimed to have a bomb before he took her to a teller who gave the woman money.
But he acknowledged to KSL that "uninformed people" will want to know why he poses no risk.
