Police Searching For Murrysville Bank Robbery Suspect
MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) – Police are looking for a suspect after a bank robbery in Murrysville.
According to police, the First Niagara Bank on Route 22 was robbed around 10 a.m. Monday.
Police say the robber was armed.
"He displayed a handgun – a small caliber handgun and ordered the bank employees to the ground and subsequently made away with at this point an undetermined amount of cash," Murrysville Police Chief Tom Seefeld said.
The bank employees followed the robber's instructions and did not cause a commotion.
"They held up pretty well … they did what they should have done by following his orders, we don't want them in any way to resist," Seefeld said. "The last thing we want is someone to get hurt or worse."
The robbery only took a few minutes. The FBI is putting together surveillance photos of the suspect in hopes someone will recognize him.
