Police Searching For Beaver Co. Robbery Suspect
BIG BEAVER (KDKA) – Police are looking for a man accused of robbing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend in Beaver County early Saturday morning.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the incident happened in Big Beaver Borough around 4:15 a.m.
Larry Shaffer Jr., 29, of New Castle, allegedly hid in the cargo area of 21-year-old Cara Metrocavige's SUV.
The vehicle was parked outside of the Club Escape Gentleman's Club on Big Beaver Boulevard.
Metrocavige returned to her vehicle and pulled out onto Big Beaver Boulevard. At that time, Shaffer emerged from the cargo area and made his way to the passenger seat.
He allegedly began demanding money and struck Metrocavige several times in the head. He then allegedly forced her foot down on the gas pedal while he attempted to take control of the steering wheel.
During the struggle for control, the vehicle nearly struck a tractor-trailer.
Metrocavige pulled over and told Shaffer that she would drive him home. However, she drove back to the club, got out and began shouting for help.
Shaffer allegedly grabbed her purse with about $500 inside and took off on foot.
His whereabouts are unknown and an arrest warrant has been issued.
Shaffer is facing several charges including, robbery, terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
