Police Searching For 2 South Side Bank Robbery Suspects

SOUTH SIDE (KDKA) – Police are investigating a Tuesday morning bank robbery on the South Side.

According to police, the incident happened at the Citizens Bank in the 2800-block of East Carson Street around 11 a.m.

Two men entered the bank and told everyone to get on the floor. They fled the bank with an undetermined amount of money.

"They told all of the people in the bank to hit the ground and went about robbing the bank of its cash," said Sonya Toler, Pittsburgh Police's spokesperson.

They used a red Cadillac Eldorado to flee the area. The car had been reported as stolen and was found abandoned near the intersection of Jumonville and Tustin Streets Uptown.

Police, using a K9 officer, searched the area, but have yet to find the robbers.

The men were described as wearing large glasses, gloves and black bandanas when they entered the bank.

No shots were fired during the incident.
