Police Release Surveillance Video In Chippewa Armed Robbery
CHIPPEWA (KDKA) -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in an armed robbery early this morning at a gas station and convenience store in Beaver County.
The robbery happened around 6:30 a.m. on Constitution Boulevard in Chippewa.
Police have now released the surveillance video in hopes someone will recognize the suspect and give them a call.
The video shows the robber stroll inside the Marathon gas station and convenience store. He then pointed a full-length shotgun at the clerk and demanded money.
The suspect's face was covered. But he is shown carrying a backpack where he stuffed the cash the clerk gave to him.
To make sure he didn't leave any money behind, he then pointed to the drawer, touched it and the clerk lifts it, but there's no extra cash. Police aren't saying how much was taken.
Before the suspect took off, he also demanded Newport cigarettes. The clerk dumped them in the backpack, too.
The suspect took off on foot toward Darlington Road.
Police hope the surveillance video will help them identify the suspect.
Anyone with information on the case is being asked to contact Chippewa Police at 724-843-8227.
