Police Raid, Padlock Westmoreland County Strip Club
NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A Westmoreland County strip club has been padlocked after police raided it for suspected drug dealing and prostitution.
Three people face charges as a result of the raid, and the club is closed until a judge determines its fate.
Gloria's Cantina on Route 30 was raided at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
It was no surprise to one patron who was who posted this review online: "Fellow clubbers – stay away. Leave this one to the locals. Trust me; they obviously have issues there that have put them on the radar."
The club has been on State Police, Vice Squad and North Huntingdon Police radar for three months.
"I was partying with the police. I was drinking, drunk and doing cocaine together and they arrested me for it," said Nathan Moore, who is facing charges in the case.
Moore, 34, of Pitcairn, is charged with six different drug counts for allegedly dealing cocaine from the men's room.
Dancer Ashley Campbell, originally from Florida, is charged with selling drugs. Another dancer, who lists her address as Rochester, is charged with prostitution.
"The search warrant specifically last night was in regard to the prostitution," said Det. Jeff Bouldin, of North Huntindon Police.
Club owner, 84-year-old Gloria Brugnoli, who lives nearby in a house with a white picket fence was there when 30 officers busted the place. She didn't want to have her face on camera.
"I try to run a decent place," said Brugnoli. "I've been in business since 1961 and I've never had this problem."
Brugnoli tells KDKA's Mary Robb Jackson that she doesn't pay her dancers, that they make a living on tips.
"As far as their prostituting; I have no idea," Brugnoli says. "You know what I mean; I ain't making no money on that."
She also denies knowing about drug sales.
"I don't sell drugs," she said. "I don't even like cigarette smoking."
But by 3 p.m. Friday, sheriffs arrived with a locksmith to padlock the place.
