Police Probe Uniontown Stabbing After Man Found Wounded In Street
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- One man is in custody, another was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after an overnight fight in the city of Uniontown.
Robert Perry is facing assault, and other charges, after police say he stabbed an unidentified man multiple times in an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation on Mt. Vernon Avenue early Thursday morning.
Perry is now being held in the Fayette County Jail, his bail set at $150,000.
Lt. Thomas Kolencik, of the Uniontown Police Department, says when police arrived on the scene around 1:30 a.m., responding to a 911 call, they found the victim lying in the roadway, with stab wounds to the chest and torso.
Police are not saying what prompted the fight.
A nearby woman who tended to the stabbing victim before paramedics, and police arrived on the scene, told KDKA-TV, "The victim kept saying let me up, let me up."
The woman, who asked not to be identified, said she told the victim don't move, she kept asking him his name.
Lt. Kolencik says the knife used in the assault has not been recovered.
