Police Probe Fatal Shooting In Garfield
GARFIELD (KDKA) - A man is dead and two others were wounded in a shooting in Pittsburgh's Garfield neighborhood Wednesday night.
According to police, the incident may have been an attempted home invasion in the 5300-block of Brown Way around 6 p.m.
Pittsburgh police have identified the man killed as 27-year-old Michael Andrews of the East Hills.
Four bullet holes mark the door on the home. Those shots were meant for a masked man who knocked on the door and immediately showed and fired a gun.
Police said there were two men in the home playing a video game. One of them answered the door and was shot in the head by the intruder.
When that first shot was fired, the other man at the home grabbed a gun and shot the masked man, who later died at the hospital.
Both of the victims in the house were taken to the hospital as well with gunshot wounds.
While police would not specify a motive Thursday morning, they did say multiple weapons were recovered in connection with the shooting.
Police are still searching for at least one other person. The surviving victims in the shooting were in fair condition as of last night.
