Police Seek Suspect In North Side Bank Robbery
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A bank on Pittsburgh's North Side has been temporarily closed this afternoon as police investigate a robbery.
According to emergency officials, it happened this morning at the Isabella Street branch of the First National Bank near the 100-block of Federal Street and across the street from PNC Park.
KDKA's Ralph Iannotti reports from the scene that police say the suspect may have fled with as much as $10,000.
The suspect is being described as a white male, standing at five-feet-five-inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue shirt at the time.
Authorities say one man was briefly detained as he matched the suspect's description. However, he was released from custody after being questioned.
The bank is temporarily closed this afternoon as police process the scene. They are also reviewing surveillance video.
Officials also say some of the suspect's clothing may have been found under the 7th Street Bridge.
