Police Offer $50K Reward For Fatal Bank Robbery Suspect

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are now offering a $50,000, as they continue to ask for the public's help in identifying the person who robbed a South Strabane bank, killing one person.

Sunday, an armed man robbed the Citizens Bank inside the Giant Eagle in South Strabane and fatally shot good Samaritan Vincent Kelley who tried to run after the suspect.

And almost a week later, police are still trying to identify the suspect and locate him.

In a press conference Friday, police said anyone who saw anything suspicious after 2:20 p.m. should call police.

A white four-door sedan was seen fleeing from the scene and a red dye pack from the stolen money exploded in the car.

Police say the car would have had a smoke trail that would not have dissipated by the time the car got to the interstate.

It was seen traveling southbound on Route 19.

"We know that this vehicle traveled southbound on State Route 19 toward the interstate," said South Strabane Det. Ken Torboli. "We are asking anyone who was along either State Route 19, Interstate 70, Interstate 79 , anyone that saw this type of behavior in this vehicle, anyone that may have witnessed any items being tossed out of the white four-door vehicle on any of those roadways, we would ask them to contact us. We believe that this subject may be trying to dispose of items that were used. So what might have looked like a simple tossing something out of the vehicle is a point that may be useful to us."

Police urge anyone with information, photos or video of the area to share it with them, even if it doesn't seem useful.
