Police: Murrysville Shooting Suspect Lured Victims To Scene
MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) – The man who shot and killed one woman and injured another before turning the gun on himself over the weekend allegedly lured the victims to the scene,
According to police, the shooting happened sometime after 7 p.m. just off of Route 22 in the parking lot of the Cozy Inn Bar & Grill in Murrysville.
Murrysville Police Chief Thomas Seefeld said 21-year-old Michael Lundsford lured his wife to the parking lot by telling her their dog had been hit by a car.
His wife, Ashley McHugh, was visiting Gina Llewellyn, 50, of Allegheny Township, at the time. Llewellyn and her family brought McHugh to the scene.
Once they arrived, it was discovered that the dog had not been hit by a car and an argument ensued.
At some point, Lundsford pulled out a rifle and shot Llewellyn and her 22-year-old daughter, Lynall.
He then turned the gun on himself
"That's the thing, you can't get into the mind especially when someone's deceased. We try to piece things together and we try not to speculate, keep that all in check. But, that is correct, we may never really know," Chief Seefeld said.
Gina was pronounced dead at the scene along with Lundsford, while Lynall was last listed in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital.
McHugh, was not injured in the incident.
Lundsford was an Army veteran and had only been married to McHugh since October. The two had some marital problems, but no explanation has been given for why this shooting happened.
