Police Make Arrest In Fatal New Castle Shooting
NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- Police in New Castle say they have made an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a man who was reportedly trying to break up a fight.
According to investigators, 24-year-old Dajuan Dawson turned himself in at the New Castle Police Department around 7:30 a.m. today.
Dawson is facing a list of charges in connection with the shooting death of 35-year-old Zarmara Stelter earlier this month.
New Castle police say Stelter suffered a gunshot wound to the head while trying to break up a fight near the Crestview Gardens Apartments on Sept. 13.
He later died from his injuries at a hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
Police say Dawson was arraigned and was taken to the Lawrence County Jail. He is facing criminal homicide and firearms-related charges.
