Police Investigating 2 Overnight Shootings In Homewood
HOMEWOOD (KDKA)- Pittsburgh Police are looking into two shootings that took place early Wednesday morning in Homewood.
The first shooting happened just after midnight in the 7100 block of Upland Street.
Police and paramedics responded to a ShotSpotter notification and 911 calls from the area. When they arrived, they found a 33-year-old man lying in front of a house on Upland Street.
The victim was alert and conscious and was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He is now in critical condition.
Police spokeswoman Emily Schaffer says police aren't sure if it was a drive-by shooting.
"At this time, we don't know the circumstances of the incident. There were multiple shell casings found nearby," she said.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting to call with information.
The second shooting in Homewood took place around 2:15 a.m. in the 800 block of Brushton Avenue.
A 38-year-old man was shot in the foot. He was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.
A shell casing was found near the scene. Right now, no arrests have been made.
