Police Investigating After Man Found Shot To Death In Marshall-Shadeland

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- An investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death inside a home in Pittsburgh's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.

According to police, officers were called out just after 5 a.m. after a Shotspotter alert was issued in the 1300 block of Malden Street.

"They found evidence that a possible crime had occurred and they forced entry into the home with a ram," said Pittsburgh Public Safety Spokesperson Cara Cruz.

Police found 39-year-old Ernest Adams, of Pittsburgh, inside with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roberto Boyzo says he saw Malden Street blocked off and several Pittsburgh Police officers searching the area.

"It feels nervous and scary because I check the window, and it's next to my house, and it's not good at all," said Boyzo.

The man was removed from his home. Family members spent time consoling each other, wondering what went wrong. Now detectives are working to answer that question.

"Police are going door to door talking to the residents and the neighbors for any possible information," said Cruz.

Meanwhile, residents like Boyzo say this incident is unusual for the neighborhood, leaving many feeling uneasy.

"[I] worry about it because my kids [are] growing here," said Boyzo. "The neighbors are friendly and there are a lot of families around, but you never know when something is wrong."

Boyzo hopes everyone stays safe and people speak up to help police find the suspect.

Police say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
