Woman Hit By Flying Glass, Son Not Hurt When Bullet Hits Vehicle In Penn Hills
PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- Police have arrested a suspect who is accused of firing a shot into a vehicle in Penn Hills Monday while a woman and her son were inside.
The incident happened along the 4200-block of Verona Road around 3:30 p.m.
According to the Penn Hills Police chief, the woman driving the vehicle had picked up her son from Penn Hills High School just before the incident. He was in the backseat.
They were on Verona Road when the suspect fired a shot, which went through the passenger-side window. Then, he immediately disappeared into some nearby woods.

The window shattered and the bullet hit the driver's seat headrest.
The woman received some cuts on her arm from flying glass, but neither she, nor her son, were shot.
Police searched the nearby woods for the shooter, and using a Penn Hills Police K-9, the 20-year-old suspect was tracked down and taken into custody.
The woman was treated and released at a hospital. She did not want to talk about what happened.
