Police Investigate Robbery In Friendship
FRIENDSHIP (KDKA) – A man celebrating his 22nd birthday was robbed in the parking lot of his apartment complex in Friendship overnight.
This incident happened at the Friendship Court Apartments on South Winebiddle Street.
The victim was hanging out with two women when three people pulled up in a car and started trouble.
"At some point, a verbal altercation ensued between the two men and another woman who came over to the house," Pittsburgh Police Lieutenant Jason Lando said.
However, things escalated quickly.
Lieutenant Lando said one of the suspects threatened to shoot the victim.
"There was a verbal altercation and I believe one of the three suspects pulled out a handgun. The victim was obviously scared," Lieutenant Lando said.
According to police, the victim tried to run away, but the suspects caught up with him, smashed a beer bottle over his head and punched him.
"[They] robbed him of his wallet, some ID cards, and his house keys. He sustained injuries to his face. Bruising, swelling," Lieutenant Lando said.
Detectives are following leads. Meanwhile, neighbors are concerned about what happened.
"That's scary. It's scary that something like that could happen right across the street," Carrie Keppler
Police are looking for one African-American female and two African-American males in connection with the robbery.
All of the suspects are believed to be teenagers and one of the males has a tattoo under his eye.
