Police Investigate Robbery At Hindu Temple
PENN HILLS (KDKA) -- Police are searching for suspects after authorities say a security guard was tied up overnight during a robbery at a Hindu temple in Penn Hills.
The incident happened just before midnight at the Sri Venkateswara Temple on McCully Drive.
Authorities say four armed men entered the temple and the security guard was confronted.
"He pushed the individual, tried to defend himself and there were three other individuals outside," Penn Hills Police Chief Howard Burton said.

His keys were taken and he was bound and gagged.
"Pointed a gun at him, threatened him, took his money, took his cell phone, took a laptop computer," Burton said.
The robbers, described as four black males, took the guard's keys and stole three small safes from the temple's offices.
"They were not able to enter the main temple because of the security system," Dr. Nagu B. Krishnappa, S.V. Temple Chairman, said.
About $10,000 to $15,000, along with jewelry and credit cards, was taken.
The suspects got away before authorities arrived at the scene. The thieves appeared to know what they were doing.
"We're looking at people who may have cleaned down there or prior employees who did lawn work or something of that nature," Burton said.
The security guard was not injured.
