Police Investigate Robbery At Bank In Squirrel Hill
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh police are searching for a suspect following an armed robbery at a bank this afternoon in Squirrel Hill.
Investigators say the robbery happened just before 1:30 p.m. at the First Niagara Bank in the 1700-block of Murray Avenue.
According to Pittsburgh police, a bank employee reported that the suspect approached a teller, threw a bag on the counter and said "give me the money."
Police describe the suspect as man with a husky build. He was reportedly wearing all black as well as sunglasses, a scarf that covered his mouth and light-colored shoes.
Investigators say the suspect was able to get away on foot up Bartlett Street with an undisclosed amount of money. There is no word on how much he got away with.
Officers did recover some money on Bartlett Street.
The investigation continues.
