Police Investigate Home Invasion, Shooting In Arnold
ARNOLD (KDKA) - Police in Westmoreland County are investigating after one person was shot and another person was injured in a home invasion overnight.
Arnold police rushed to the scene after neighbors called 911 to report a disturbance along the 1600-block of Victoria Avenue
"There was a lot of thumping around two o'clock this morning," said one neighbor.
When police got to the second floor of the home, they found a man shot and a woman injured, the apparent victims of a home invasion by several individuals.
"This is not a safe neighborhood at all. It used to be a very nice neighborhood," added the neighbor who did not want to be identified.
She went on to say that she has also been the victim of a violent home invasion nearby. She also said that she knows the victims of this latest case personally.
"Home invasions are very common," she added. "Usually, they are not reported or the media doesn't come because there's not a shooting or it's usually drug houses; so, they're not reported. But it's very common. There's lots of shootings here; gunfire's here all the time."
So far, there is no motive in the case and the identities of the victims have not been released.
Officials say they have made one arrest in the incident.
Several people are reportedly being interviewed by police; however, there is no word as to whether they are suspects or persons of interest in the case.
