Marshall-Shadeland Shooting Victims In Stable Condition, Investigation Continues
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are trying to figure out who shot two young men as they walked down the sidewalk Wednesday evening in the city's Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.
"The gunshots... It was like pow, pow, pow," said Starr Freeman, who was inside her home baking her grandson's birthday cake, when she heard gunfire.
The shots rang out around 5 p.m. on Marshall Avenue and Ridgeland Drive.
Freeman says she looked across Ridgeland Drive to see the two victims.
She immediately called 911.
Detectives on the scene searched for a weapon or any other clues.
"We're trying to piece together what's happened," said Sonya Toler, Pittsburgh Police spokesperson. "We don't have any suspects just yet. We're following a few leads."
Investigators say the victims were approached by at least two other males who shot them and then took off.
The names of the victims have not been released. One is 19-years-old, the other is 20. Police say both are listed in stable condition at Allegheny General Hospital.
If police know whether it was a random shooting or if the victims were targeted, they're not saying right now.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pittsburgh Police.
