Police In Fla. Looking For 3rd Suspect In Adams' Stabbing
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There are new details in the investigation into the stabbing and attempted carjacking of Pittsburgh Steeler Mike Adams.
According to Pittsburgh police, authorities in Florida are now involved in the search for the third suspect who is wanted in the case, Jerrell Whitlock.
Police say they have reason to believe Whitlock may be in Columbia County, Fla.
Officers there searched several homes and other locations, but have not found anything, Pittsburgh police said.
Whitlock, 26, is described as being an African-American male, standing about five-feet-11-inches tall and weighing 200 pounds with a mustache and goatee.
Two other suspects in the case, 25-year-old Michael Paranay and 26-year-old Dquay Means, are in police custody. All three men are from Hazelwood.
The incident happened in the early morning hours of June 1 near the intersection of East Carson Street and South 17th Street on the South Side.
Police say Adams was standing near his truck when he was approached by three men. Adams sought help inside the Cambod-Ican Kitchen and was later transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital for this injury.
Once in custody, Whitlock will be facing charges of criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, attempting carjacking and criminal conspiracy.
