Police Identify Giant Eagle Robbery Suspect
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Police have identified a woman accused of stealing more that $16,000 from a local Giant Eagle.
According to police, the woman has been identified as 45-year-old Darcy Lynn Hudson.
Earlier this month, she was spotted in the cash room of the Crafton Giant Eagle claiming she was looking for the restroom.
As she was heading to a nearby bar, Giant Eagle discovered more than $16,000 was missing.
Once her surveillance pictures were published and broadcast, an anonymous caller identified her.
Police have found no ties to anyone at Giant Eagle.
"There's no nexus for Hudson to any of the employees with the Giant Eagle. So, we can't say how long she was inside that store to determine when would be the best time to do that. But, obviously she must have done some type of casing, sort of speak, of when the best time, when they had the most money. Of course, that's an awful lot of money," Allegheny County Police Lieutenant Jeff Korczyk said.
According to police her last known residence was a halfway house on the Second Avenue. Prior to that, she was at a halfway house on the Boulevard of the Allies.
Anyone with information is asked to call Allegheny County Police.
