Police File Charges In Juvenile Court Over Scottdale Fight
SCOTTDALE (KDKA) -- Scottdale Police have filed charges in juvenile court against two teen girls who are accused of getting into a fight on a local playground.
The fight happened around 8 p.m. Monday at Garfield Park in Scottdale.
The 13-year-old is a student at Southmoreland Middle School. The 16-year old is a sophomore at the high school.
The 13-year-old told KDKA earlier this week that the fight began as a disagreement over a boy, but escalated when the 16-year old told her she looked pregnant.
Another teen watching the fight captured it on cell phone video and posted it on YouTube.
Sources tell KDKA that police plan to charge the 13-year-old's mother, Chassidy Murphy, with encouraging her daughter to fight.
Those charges are expected to be filed on Monday.
