BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - Bluefield police say a dispute over a social media message led to gunfire that nearly hit an infant.
The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports that 34-year-old Michael Hopkins of Bluefield was charged with wanton endangerment, felony possession of a firearm and brandishing a deadly weapon after the Monday shooting.
Hopkins was arrested late Wednesday is being held in the city jail in lieu of a $1 million bond.
Patrolman A.B. Palmer says Hopkins argued with another person over a comment posted on Facebook, then went to that person's home and fired about three shots into the residence.
None of the three people inside were hit by the gunfire, but Palmer says one round was found close to a crib that had been occupied by an infant.
