Police: Driver Of Stolen SUV Slams Into Cars In Garfield
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police say an early morning driver crashed into several cars parked in Garfield, then drove away.
The cars were hit on Hillcrest Drive around 2 a.m. Friday.
Staci Flint's four vehicles parked outside were damaged.
"We were sleeping and got awakened to a whole bunch of noise, crashes and bangs and clatter," Flint said.
Flint says she the driver get away on foot and said he looked like a teenager.
"The motorcycle was up there and hit into the windshield of the Chrysler and then he hit the Chrysler," she said. "Motorcycle ended up here. He went through the hedges and hit vehicles in the driveway also."
Flint says the motorcycle was hit so hard, the front tire flew off.
"It was a lot of damage, a lot of damage. Never seen anything like it," said Willie Thompson who lives across the street.
Police say the driver was in a stolen SUV – a Ford Explorer – but haven't released any other details.
Meanwhile, Flint says she has plenty to worry about already with a terminally ill 18-year-old son and three kids under the age of 10 to take care of.
